If you noticed a unique new sound on the Paper Airplane album compared to previous AKUS albums that is mostly thanks to the sound recording engineer Mike Shipley that spent nearly 6 months in the studio with Alison. Mike, who actually won a Grammy award for Paper Airplane, passed away in 2013 and had been quoted several months beforehand as being excited to start tracking again with AKUS soon. Given the pressure Alison has been said to put on herself in the studio this must have been doubly terrible news. I wonder what the next album will sound like and who will be in there with Alison to make it happen this time around?

And that worn out old song that you play"
