Thank you akusk8 and tal! Alison writes her "and" symbols like I do. This has been the best study break I have had today. *sigh*

Dude, that is awesome. So is that Alison's handwriting or Julie Lee's? And how did Akus8 get ahold of it?

Hi everyone! The handwriting is Alison's and it is signed by Alison, Julie Lee, and John Pennel. I found this on an auction on ebay. It was held by Julien's Artfact Auctions. It said is was from the "Grammy Awards Charity Auction Benefiting MuciCares", Lot 61: Alison Krauss Original Handwritten Lryics. I found this and watched it to see how high it would go. My husband gave me the idea of printing out a copy just to have. I know it is not the original, but I guess it is the next best thing. The original went for over $700.00. I am glad to have been able to share it with you guys. I am pretty much a lone Alison fan out here.

Well, you are not alone here! ;D Welcome to the board Akusk8! Great entrance I'd say. And as an AKUS fan in Holland I (and probably Eilleen too) know the feeling of being a "lone" fan but I find this board helps!

akusk8, you're not alone, I'm from northern cal and I know what you mean. Thanks a lot for posting the lyric sheet. I, for one, was really curious to see it and I know I'll sleep much better tonight having done so! ;D ;D ;D Your husband had a great idea and I think I can say for all of us we are very happy for his idea. Welcome to this board. The rules are a little friendlier than at CMT so come back soon and post often! ~foggy

And I'm only 19 years old so country music isn't really populair under my peers... But I recently played some of her music when my friends were at my place, and they never heard her name before, but they did know some of the songs. Not just the soundtrack ones, or the covers, but also other songs. Didn't expect that.

LOL! I did notice that about the spelling of eerie! But not enough to realize what was actually wrong! Just that there WAS something wrong but was too lazy to check if I was right in that there was something wrong! ;D ;D.

Thanks everyone for your nice welcome! I am glad you all enjoyed the lyric sheet. I wish there were more stuff like this out there of Alison's. I'll have to let my husband let him know how good his idea actually was.

I too noticed the "eerie" error. I guess Alison is allowed to have an oops once in 37 years. lol
Welcome, akusk8! Thank you (and your husband) again!

I noticed that on this lyric sheet, the name of the gent who had the dream is written as "Jacob Dibert", where on the recording she clearly sings "Jacob Doddard." Did anyone notice this?

Are there any handwriting experts in the audience that could tell us what the finer points of Alison's handwriting can tell us about her?

I hear "Dibert". I am not an expert on handwriting, but I will take a swing at it and guess that the way she writes her "and" symbols means she is a very sweet, and beautiful person! (Did I mention that is how I write mine as well..?) lol

I've always heard her sing what I thought was "Jacob Diverd" but going back and listening to the recording i see how it's Jacob Dibert. Plus, if you look up the name Jacob Dibert, you get tons of hits with webpages talking about the Lost Children of the Alleghenies. Alison has good handwriting...and did yall notice everytime she writes GOD its in all caps! hehe. This is a great song.....it shares a great part of history. Though its very tragic, i think Julie is awesome for writing it. She's written about her ancestors and other parts of history and has made wonderful songs with them...a true gift!
