Someone told me that it wasn't going to happen in the near future but I don't know if that was accurate information. AKUS doesn't seem to have anything scheduled for the rest of the summer after the GHM tour ends, so that may be a good sign. And there was lots of talk that they were walking on an album before the tour began.
Does anyone know anything more definitive?

I just talked to a songwriter friend of mine [that lives here in Nashville] and he said he was working on pitching AK some songs. He said she's been in the studio recording a lot lately.
I also heard through the grapevine that the new album will be out in November. That's not definitive though.
Maybe someone will know something?...

Foggy...I'm pretty sure that it is a band album. I'm so excited for it to come out!! We need some new AKUS music. It would be GREAT if they added "Sawing on the strings" to the new album. A lot of people loved the performance!

Well the way Jerry has talked on his message board, it seems to be a group Album. I know they are supposed to record " A Living Prayer" ( Alison said probably her favorite Ron songs that they would be recording)and a Gillian Welch song( I dont know which one) and I think I also heard a song Mindy Smith wrote ( Also dont know which one) I hope it comes out soon. Im very excited about it!!

If you go to: www.garypaczosa.com/ and click under "current projects" he has AKUS down there with a 2004 release date. That should be a pretty good sign for a new album. |

Talking about his time off from the Great Mountain Tour, here's what Jerry Douglas said about the new album:
"There's no letup in sight: Krauss and Union Station are working on a new record, due out next spring, and Douglas begins work on a new record of his own in fall, which will also be out in spring. "Tour, tour, tour," Douglas says of his future."
