I play a decent guitar myself, (Martin D28) and apart from changing the strings regularly, don't do much to enhance the sound. I'm sure that Ron uses some "electrickery" on recordings.........maybe reverb?......echo?....whatever it is, it sounds too good to be just an acoustic guitar and a mic. Anyone know the secret?

Sometimes having the braces shaved, adding a bone nut & saddle can improve the sound of an already good sounding guitar but there lays the rub. Not all guitars, even the same make and model will not sound the same or even good. You have to hunt for THAT good sounding guitar and buy it. If your guitar does NOT have “THAT SOUND”...It probably never will.
