 Hey to all my fellow Alison Krauss lovers. I have a Question that maybe taboo Don't hate me but I have looked for websites that have this info on them and none do. I recently found out Alison was married and then with further research I found out that they She and Pat Bergeson got divorced Does anyone know why? Is this one of the subjects that Alison keeps to herself. Some fans think a true fan wouldn't pry but we know so much about her aren't fans supposed to. I highly doubt that any of us would hate you for asking anything, lovakus. I know Alison is a pretty private person when it comes to personal things such as that, I don't blame her. I really have no idea as to why she and Pat divorced, I don't think I really pay attention to that kind of thing too much. I do know that when two people go through something such as that, it is very difficult for everyone involved.. especially since they share a son. I just hope that whatever went on in their lives outside of the spotlight, that Alison wasn't ever too hurt or upset. I also hope that one day she finds someone that she may be with for the rest of her life, and who loves her dearly. She deserves that... and so much more. I wish I could help you more with your curiousity, but again, I don't really get into that too much. Maybe someone else knows the answer??

I agree with you akusgal, but I also understand how Kate feels here. We are devoted fans of Alison, and it is perfectly normal for people like us to be curious about her personal life. Just like the both of you, I have no idea why things didn't work out between Pat and Alison, but one can't help but wonder how someone as down-to-earth and personable as Alison could have ended up in a sour marriage. All things considered, I wish Alison the best of luck, and as curious as I might be, I will always respect her privacy.

Alrighty, this has been brough up a few times, I don't know if it was here or the other boards, but whenever it is brought up there are ALWAYS diffrent views! And people take things differently!
I will say that none of us know much about that relationship unless you are REALLY good friends with Alison. I understand why she keeps the personal things to herself. She kept her marriage out of the spot light and she keeps Sam out of the spot light, and I think that as a person and a mother, that's a great thing and I respect her for that.
I dunno why they split, I would like to know, but if Alison wants to keep things quiet, by gally, I'm gonna respect that and not question it (although I do question it, but whatever...) Both of them have amazing careers and AKUS is always on the road, and when they do spend time at home, they are ALWAYS working. You think that has anything to do with it?
I just hope, like akusgal said, that Alison finds that one person who is absolutely AMAZING for her! She does deserve someone special! She's done a lot in her life, and has given so much.
Alison will find someone, when she wants to and when she thinks she is ready!!

Just my personal view, but it breaks my heart to think that a guy had Alison's love, and then somehow lost it!!! It is INCONCEIVABLE to me how any man could allow such a priceless treasure to slip away!!! In his place I would have made any sacrifice, swallowed all pride, endured months of loneliness at a time, washed her buses, anything at all to keep her!!!!!

That is something that should be between the two of them. I appreciate the fact that this information is not shared with her fans as so many other couples seem to do. Fans only have a right to the public side of an entertainer, not the personal life, that belongs to the family. I enjoy her music, personality and style. Wish I could go to more of her concerts.

I respect Alison highly for keeping her home life private. It's prolly how she keeps her sanity! 'Cause that's a busy woman right there! Whatever happened, I just pray that all is well now. Besides, Alison don't need a man to survive, cause she's pretty dang good on her own I must say. WOMAN POWER! ROFL!!! i'm crazy....but anyways....I do respect her for that and its good that she does that cause people will concentrate on her music, which is what should be focused on. and it is quite amazing, in case you haven't noticed. =) ;D
