Is Our Gal Rocking Out Or What?

One of my favorite woman rockers is Ann Wilson, another being her sister Nancy. So I was quite delighted when I read the following:

"Heart singer Ann Wilson issues her solo debut, Hope And Glory, via Rounder Records on September 11. It features guest appearances from Elton John, KD Lang, Alison Krauss, Shawn Colvin, Rufus Wainwright and her sister Nancy Wilson."

Alison, Shawn Colvin, KD Lang, Elton John, Rufus Wainwright and the Wilson sisters?!?! WOW! I don't know if I've gone to heaven or if I'm in the middle of a dream come true...

This project gets more exciting by the minute. I just found out that Wynonna and Gretchen Wilson are also involved. I don't think Gretchen is related to Ann and Nancy, but her voice will sure fit in well with theirs.

I am amazed by the level of musicianship on this CD. These female voices are some of the best in the business. Elton John and Rufus Wainright are also remarkable.

I sure wish Alison would follow suit on her next solo effort. I'd love to hear her sing with these types of stellar talents.

I guess Alison is "spreading her wings" more and more - I just hope that she always does stuff in good taste! And I hope the bluegrass keeps coming!

Of course I will have to get a copy of this CD. I also am a fairly large fan of the SINGING of k.d. lang, if not her(?) personally.
