Hi !
My name is Julie, I'm 18 going on 19. I'm french. I am listening to country music for 3 years now. It's the Dixie Chicks who introduced me to this kind of music and it's thanks to them that I discovered Alison Krauss (because Emily is a big fan of her so I wanted to hear Alison).
Besides Alison Krauss and the Dixie Chicks the other artists that I like are : Keith Urban, Rhonda Vincent, Patty Griffin, Charlie Robison, Sara Evans, ...

Hi all AKUS fans, greetings from Dublin Ireland. It is my life's ambition to see the band play live. My first introduction was the live CD about 3 years ago and since then I have bought almost all the AKUS albums, for me to adequately put down all my thoughts on this band would take forever. They are sensational. I so much hope they will come to Ireland or Europe but if I have to travel Stateside to see them I will, though I would think tickets in the States for an AKUS gig are precious.
I'm 38, into many types of music, especially Irish ballads (I play in a ballad group), but AKUS are now my all time favourite band. Bye for now everybody!!!

Welcome, I think that you'll find this is a very nice place.
I really do love Irish ballads, have you ever heard of a
trio named the Celtic Tenors, I have the one album
that I could find of theirs, but back to AKUS, I just
had my first chance to see them in concert, and I was
just blown away by how great they sound in a live
performance, I can't wait to see them again....so

Hi Mandy, yes the Celtic Tenors are of course very well known here in Ireland, the ballad artists I especially like are The Dubliners, Wolfe Tones, Christy Moore and The Fureys. But as I said earlier, AKUS top the lot.
