Hey Foggy...I will naturally respect your request as I for sure do not wish to be rude but I have to confess it is unclear to me how this takes up room on the internet. Could you explain to me the system of this? In a pm or email if you feel that would be better! Gladly will give you my email adress in a pm btw! ( Stacy..same goes for you if you perchange want to continue our conversation )

While the Webmaster would have to answer you more specifically Tal, my basic understanding is that every letter and picture takes up gigabytes and every site has a limited number of bytes that someone has to pay for. Also, other posters have to read through each post. If too many posts are 'off topic' we will lose posters who will go elsewhere rather than wade through all the chaff. That's why you will often see a thread marked 'off topic' as a polite warning to other posters. We used to have a lot more posters here and at the CMT board until too many off-topic posts discouraged them from staying.

Well, in all fairness, I did post this under "Other Banter", a topic board labeled "everything else." I guess that I assumed since there were upteen other topic boards that cover the whole nine yards on the band, "Other Banter" was to be used for things unrelated to AKUS. And I'd say that my original post skirted the boundaries of "is or is not AKUS-related." However, with discussions about what instruments we play and other artists we enjoy going on, I felt as though I could safely create a post that could be considered "off-topic." I will agree that the topic took a turn that could easily scare off new posters, but IMO, my original post wasn't out of line for this forum. If others feel offended, I apologize. I simply had found myself really moved by Ron's song and wanted to share that. I don't feel, however, that I said anything that I haven't heard various members of AKUS discuss in interviews or that Ron doesn't write about in his songs. So, in my eyes, at least...if my original post was offensive to someone, then AKUS would be, as well. My purpose was to just give a commentary on how the song affected me personally and what it and the story behind it means to me. I could just as easily write a commentary on how "Looking Through the Eyes of Love," or "It Doesn't Matter," or...well, this list could go on for miles, but the point is clear....have affected me and why they are close to my heart and I don't think it would be deemed "off-topic." As it was, I chose a religiously themed song, mainly because that one in particular is an oldie that I've been listening to forever and only now did it have such an affect on me. Most other songs have grabbed me instantaneously as a song with which I could relate, lyrically speaking.
Tal, do feel free to contact me through PM if you would like.
Again, if my contribution to this thread has left a bad taste in anyone's mouth, I sincerely apologize. Please know that my intention was good and without malice, but I should've been able to foresee the can of worms that could've potentially been opened under this thread.
So, I'll say it before as I said a couple of weeks ago: Above all, this, as foggy has said, is an AKUS fan board and we should all respect one another and the different life experiences that each individual is bringing to this proverbial table.
