If you haven't been there already, visit youtube. There are numerous clips of both Ryman shows. Unfortunately, there are very few from Paper Airplane but I am not an ingrate and the pieces that are posted give you not just AKUS at its best, but also a sense of the upbeat energy of the show.

TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!!! I'm so excited, over 6 years since they last played in Ireland. I'll post a report up tomorrow, Grand Canal Theatre in central Dublin, I can hardly contain myself. Bring it ON. NOW.

TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!!! I'm so excited, over 6 years since they last played in Ireland. I'll post a report up tomorrow, Grand Canal Theatre in central Dublin, I can hardly contain myself. Bring it ON. NOW. Wow..........where do I start? How do I do this justice? From the first guitar pluck from Ron for "Paper Airplane" to the final note on "There is a Reason", I lived and loved every single note, every single lyric, every sumptuous phrase, I think I died and went to Heaven last night. It's my 3rd time to see this truly remarkable band of wonderful musicians and singers and my wonderment and admiration for them soared yet again. They played for 2 hours and 10 minutes straight, received a standing ovation from the Dublin crowd (this doesn't happen on a regular basis for a band not hugely known in Ireland) and had the audience spellbound. Jerry's solo was truly electrifying as he paid tribute to the culture of Irish music and its contribution to music in general and the influence Irish music has had on his own career and it was clear he meant it. Alison's singing was as beautiful and perfect as ever and oh so effortless, she truly is a phenomenon. Dan's vocals were vibrant, commanding and powerful and I liked the addition of John on piano for a couple of numbers and Josh proved a more than able replacement for Larry on drums. So in short (I don't wanna be short!), AKUS are alive, well and totally wonderful, if I have to wait another 6 years for them to play in Ireland again, so be it, I'd wait forever to hear them playing again. I've said it here before, they are the greatest band I will ever see/hear in my life and I am so grateful to have been given the chance to do so. AKUS, thanks and continued successs to you. So there you go!

It was awhile ago but I saw their show in Boise! It was a general admission show SO I ended up standing in-line for 5 hours before the doors opened, frantically ran to the stage across a large field, and laid on a large blanket to stake my claim...BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. Front row center <3 It was the most amazing concert.

Duuude after meeting her right before the show in Atlanta, my sister and I ran full-tilt into the theatre screaming "WE CAN'T MISS PAPER AIRPLAAAAAAANE." The ushers gave us crap for it at first, but then when we squealed "WE JUST MET ALISON KRAUSS!" they were like, "...Oh. Well done, then. Carry on."
I get excited and run a lot when Alison is involved, is what I'm saying.

I get excited and run a lot when Alison is involved, is what I'm saying. Except when you have to be the calm and collected one because someone else (aka: me) is being a total spaz...
