Just blew $1.29 on an Amazon download of the song that "Alison sings on" supposedly on the new Alabama CD "Southern Drawl". It could just as well have been Tom Petty or Little Richard or anybody, you can only tell that in a couple of places there is SOMEBODY singing harmony but they mixed it so you can't hear that person (presumably alison) at all. No, it's all Randy. What an ego! why did they even bother to call Alison in if they werent gonna let us hear her?
I got pissed and went to Alabama's website and found there contact page, it gave an email, info@conwayent.com. I wrote them and gave them a piece of my mind. Prolly theyre not gonna ever answer. But maybe if other people wrote too it might make them think. Too late anyway the record is already produced but it would feel good to let them know what we think. I think she was insulted is my feeling.

I have to say the same thing again about another CD, Don Henley's newest project "Cass County". It's a good CD cause Don is a great songwriter and his voice is still pretty strong, but how can you have Alison Krauss on like 4 of the songs and not mix it so she can be heard? Even the bonus track (I went out of my way to get it at Target so I could get the one with the Stevie Nicks and Alison bonus tracks, waste of gasoline IMHO) Maybe Alison likes having her name on stuff but not her voice? Anyway if you're a Don Henley fan it's worth getting for that reason but not for hearing Alison sing because you won't. I wish she would come out with another CD of her own!!!!

Well, Im in total agreement with you. What a waste of Alisons time and MOSTLY talent. But,(here is what I think),lol, Most times other when other artists invite Alisons to sing or be featured on an album or cut, the artists know and the record lables know if Alison voice isnt somehow "subdued"(spelling?} a little on backup or such, her voice will overpower the primary artist. Alison has no ego and it probably doesnt matter to her. She tries to help any artist she can. Plus, the artists and record companies also know that whatever Alison touches, turns to gold. My personal opinion, no offense to anyone but, i think Alabama's high point has past and they need to hang it up. Saw them along time ago in Myrtle Beach and here again, my opinion, Randy Owens was a egotistical jerk. Sorry. I dont Alison will lose a min of sleep. Shes too busy counting her Grammys, lol. Take care!
