The other day a fellow from Argentina contacted me on my MySpace page, and we have struck up an interesting correspondence. Seems he came into contact some years ago with some vacationing American bluegrass people, and fell in love with the sound, and now has an Argentinian bluegrass band! He likes the Bill Monroe sound, tries his best to imitate it. He writes songs in Spanish but also does a couple in English. He sent me a video link: es.youtube.com/watch?v=Utk8dNHrzYoIt's kind of cool. Among this AKUS board family I'm betting there are at least a couple who understand Spanish, but even if not it's still kinda cool to think that bluegrass is spreading around the world! (Yet we still can't get our local radio stations to play it - go figure!!) I talked to a guy in Portugal last year who was already aware of who Alison was and had heard some of her music and liked it. And most of you here are aware of the guy from Hungary who turned on to AKUS last year. Good music really is universal, isn't it? ;D
