See: www.startribune.com/stories/389/5526821.htmlThis may be of interest. AKUS is listed as #7. Its interesting that they rank that high when you see that all the other 14 listed get a lot of play on the country stations and AKUS gets only an occasional play.

Wow!! That is really interesting. I mean, out of all the concerts this summer, they're #7, before artists like Gretchen Wilson and Keith Urban. (I don't mean to say that like they're better, they just seem to get more airplay and everything.) That's really great! GO AKUS!! hehe. I agree with what they said about Alison, "it's Krauss' off-the-wall humor that makes the performances delightfully unpredictable." I love going to concerts not only to hear AMAZING music, but to hear everything Alison will say!! But anyway, thanks for posting that zdje. That's really great to hear.

I guess Jerry has the best take on the situation. From his website (http://www.jerrydouglas.com/News.cfm):
"A lot of acts live and die by the charts," Douglas said. "They're right there every Thursday when the new numbers come out. But we're not a slave to it, and that's really a nice feeling."
In the '80s, Douglas was a member of the country act the Whites, and saw how things worked from the other side.
"We didn't really want to play the game (with country radio), but we were forced to," he remembered. "We'd watch the charts, and if a song didn't make the Top 20, then we'd have to start figuring out what we were going to put out next."
With Krauss and Union Station, Douglas concluded, it's a whole lot simpler.
"We know if people hear this," he said, "they're going to like it."
