Awww this interview! ;D It's so nice to see a good interview pop up and I loved the bits about her first starting out.
This has to be my favorite part. ♥

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.
I loved this article. Loved it.
Alison's comment about the purity of bluegrass is the reason I love it and this band. I love that whole paragraph:
“I’ve always loved the message that bluegrass has the purity of it. It’s always, ‘There’s nothing more beautiful than the girl next door. There’s nothing more wonderful than Mom and Dad. There’s nothing more passionate than this man running away with the beautiful girl next door.’” She shivers, then laughs, displaying the goosebumps on her arm. “Chills,” she says. “I daydreamed about that life when I first listened to the stuff, riding around with John. That message is what we carry, even though we might have more contemporary lyrics. You can’t explain it. It’s the stuff that makes you daydream and you don’t know why.”
AKUS has passion for what they do and I feel like we all share that passion with them.

I can't even deal with her. This. This whole interview is kind of doing my head in. I'm not used to seeing her get this personal yet still have an air of mystery about her. "She’s a conundrum, I tell her, wearing her heart on her sleeve before whipping on a blanketing shawl."

I especially liked the Wizard of Oz comparison. I got a huge kick out of imagining Alison as Dorothy and Dan as Toto.

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00hh26lThere is a BBC Scotland radio interview with Alison on the Friday after Thanksgiving that was recorded last week during the AKUS tour. These interviews are generally available 24 hours after they are broadcast in the UK and remain available for 7 days.
