alisonkrauss.com is obsolete and google alerts are often off point. To find timely information about AKUS, you have to be almost a full time researcher digging around on Jerry's site, reading Barry or Ron's blogs or visiting allied creative Alison sites. It shouldn't be. For example www.herald-citizen.com/view/full_story/16051017/article-RISING-STAR--Sierra-Hull-ready-for-next-step?instance=home_featuresthis current article about Sierra Hull talks about going to the White House with Dan and Alison to do a PBS taping this November. I can almost bet there will be no information about the taping and when it might air on the official site.

I'm sure the official website will be updated with the airing - the week before it does.

Seriously, we need to organize an email campaign to Music City Networks, the people responsible for AKUS' online presence. Of course, it could be that they're just not getting the info from Alison's publicists in a timely manner, but it's still their fault that the "fanclub" promised by the website is utterly useless.

This is where this chat board helps to fill in the gaps. There probably will never be one single source of all info re Alison, but we few enthusiastic fans, posting here the gems that we do dig up, are pooling our different resources and areas of interest here. That's what makes this a GREAT chat board!!
I, for example, cull quickly through the Google Alerts, and YouTube, and WireImage, but due to my heavy work schedule don't have the time to go through the guys' blogs. Other members here do, so please, if you see something interesting, post it here!!! There is unlimited space, and I don't think anyone minds reading long posts, if they are interesting. Thanks!!!
And a happy harvest, and a happy Halloween to all.

Sorry, turbo, but this site cannot and should not have to fill in the gaps for a professionally maintained (or not) website with access to the band, the record company, the publicist,.. .
Why should fans have to read the Opry site to find out if Alison or AKUS is appearing? And Billboard to find out how Paper Airplane is charting? And, and, and......sure, there are a few forum members who find one thing or another but, no one can reliably provide relevant information on this forum.
I agree with silverqueen that we should e-mail Music City Networks and ask, what's up? How come alisonkrauss.com is not current? If you go to alisonkrauss.com and scroll down to the bottom of the home page there is an mcn icon with a hot button in the middle of the c that will take you to contact e-mail.

I agree. And what REALLY makes me angry is the obvious discrepancy between the AKUS website and the websites of more "popular" artists that Music City Networks also maintains. Brad Paisley and Lady Antebellum have elaborate social networking platforms on their websites. AKUS doesn't even have an up-to-date news feed. It's just obvious where their priorities lie.
I'll email them too, greenmoray.
