Update: Spent some time on the telephone today with Time Life. Turns out these episodes are not CURRENTLY part of any collection, but by the end of this year they will be included in a new collection that will be offered for sale. I gave them my name and contact info and they will contact me when it is available. I plan to buy the entire collection in order to get those episodes. Is that dedication or what???
So, good news, y'all, those missing Hee Haw episodes will be in my possession by Christmas, and of course you can each PM me to arrange coming over and watching them with me, or something........
UPDATE: By now that collection should have been released. I spent more time on the phone today, even with supervisors there at Time-Life, and this is the story I got this time:
They are considering releasing another Hee Haw collection, but ONLY IF THEY GET A LOT OF PUBLIC INTEREST (CALLS, EMAILS, ETC.). Also there is NO INFORMATION about what episodes would be included in this proposed new collection. They are typically unhelpful, like any huge corporation. The highest-ranking person I talked to simply said to go to their website:
and submit a request. I did so by entering "Hee Haw DVD Collections" in the first larger box on the righthand half of the page, where they ask for a TimeLife product, and then in the second larger box below that, where it says "Please write your questions and/or comments.....", I wrote this:
I am still searching for TWO PARTICULAR EPISODES OF HEE-HAW, and I am perfectly willing to buy a collection AS LONG AS IT CONTAINS THESE EPISODES. According to my best information, (which may not be completely accurate) they are:
1) Episode 563 – Season 23, Episode 21 – February 16th, 1991 The Oak Ridge Boys / Alison Krauss and Union Station
2) Episode 566 – Season 24, Episode 2 – January 11th, 1992 Merle Haggard / Alison Krauss / Lee Taylor
"You can put me down as wanting to buy any collection CONTAINING THE ABOVE EPISODES!! Please research your planned release projects, and respond to this message letting me know if this is ever going to happen. Thank you very much."
I think the above episode info may be incomplete, but it's the best anybody has so far. (Right??) If some of you could write or call Time Life (1-800-950-7887), maybe ask to speak with supervisor Dora, add a little momentum to this search, maybe they might stop dragging their feet and release these. Any help would be appreciated.....
(I think I'll post this on Alison's Facebook forum also.)
