Is (or was) Shelly West blind?

Seems to me I remember her always appearing with sunglasses early in her career, and I had the impression she was blind. Lately I've seen her appearing to be sighted, does anybody know the skinny on this? Or maybe am I thinking of someone else?

^^^ I don't believe that she was. Now there was a blind female country singer back in the early 1980s named Terri Gibb and the song that she is mostly known for is "Somebody's Knocking". Is that who you are thinking of? Shelly sang "Jose Quervo You Are A Friend Of Mine" and "You're The Reason God Made Oklahoma".
