I was just watching some random youtube videos of Alison today. Some songs have been posted here as youtube links, and I would like to download those and put them on my Iphone. But what are your favorite songs from Alison that are not on her albums? Like duets or anything. Hopefully they will be available for me somewhere . Any suggestions are welcome. The songs don't need to be recent recordings. I was looking for a list of songs by Alison, but I could not really find one that includes ALL the songs she recorded. Does anyone know where I can find a list like that?

Good catch! I don't know why the board automatically did that. Thanks Andreah1975!

I love her live performance of Jesus Hold My hand on the opry!
Another question- did any of you get a google alert where Alison turned down an offer to play on an album but declined stating "I don't play much anymore?" this broke my heart when I heard this! Just curious if any of you heard about it to?

Dreambig88, Yes, I caught that comment. From what I understand, Alison is finding more joy in singing now as a passionate expression of herself than the fiddle. I understand that, but a loss for us who appreciate the grace and gift of her fiddle playing. It's one thing to hear her play those amazing melodies she comes up with, but watching her play is as beautiful and mesmerizing as watching the ocean waves. But her voice is a gift all its own too... she is truly blessed beyond measure.

Thank you Loverscross for clarifying that for me! I literally almost died when I heard that and of course ever hearing those words from someone you idolize almost stops your heart that I did not continue to read it! I didn't want it to get worse! Sorry for being dramatic! Just a little shocked but I appreciate your clarification! It won't be the same seeing Alison not playing the fiddle but I love hearing her angelic voice! It will be a change but at least we will still have Alison!

Dreambig88, she made that comment I believe in context to the Joshua Bell album. He, being a violin prodigy as well, she may have graciously felt it best not to play fiddle/violin on his album and requested to sing instead. She won't stop playing the fiddle completely, but she has been playing it less over the years.

It was so great seeing her on the youtube videos onstage with country legends and their instruments like mandolin, guitar, banjo, dobro...and her, this youngster (teenager?) playing her fiddle alongside! She did say in a not-too-long ago interview that her fiddle playing had, in her words "gone to crap"...I wonder if it might be a migraine trigger for her? I suppose its possible... Anyways, I wonder if she's still learning the piano. I remember her saying a few years ago when AKUS performed at the White House, that she was, and that she sings differently when she plays it.

Philly, I expect that Alison is a perfectionist and going to be her harshest critic, so for her to say that about her fiddling is no surprise, although we know better... ;-) She is so multi-talented, I doubt most people know how many instruments she actually plays: fiddle, viola, bass, guitar, mandolin, piano, and I believe drums.... and who knows what else!
