Hi- new member RUFUS here. Alison will also be on the OPRY Oct 15 at 1 p.m with Ralph Stanley, Larry Sparks, Jesse McReynolds and The Osborne Brothers. I have already made arrangements to go to FAN FEST the next week and can't do both. So much to do--- So little time. As I said , I am new here ,and Doug I so appreciate your posts. Wish I could have heard some of the songs you posted. I believe Alisons' talent is incomparable . will post again with some questions, which I hope someone can answer RUFUS

Alison played with Ron and Sierra Hull on Friday night. I posted the performances. Does anyone know the name of the instrumental on the late show? Also, does anyone know if Alison has sung "That's the Way Love Goes" before. I know its an old Merle Haggard song, but had never heard Alison sing it.
Thanks

Doug, I have never heard her sing that one before, and I think it was so beautiful...hey, we have great taste in music..right...yes...I was just blown away listening to it. If you could post it on the I Disk thing, I have good luck downloading from there, and I assure you when other fans hear it they will want it very much.....thanks again for all the nice things that you do for all of us... Doug, Thank you very much.!!!Lordy, Lordy that girl can sing!!. I really enjoy her bluegrass voice " high and lonesome" as they say.Reminds me of her earlier works on the festival circut. This is the voice OPRY goers just love to hear. A thought crossed my mind--- does anyone see Seirra Hull being the mandolin player with AKUS? maybe not right now, but maybe in the future? I know Alison has been very supportive of her for a long time. Just a thought. Again Doug, thanks so very much. Rufus

Thanks a bunch for posting that Doug. I listened to the concert the night it aired, and was just floored by it. I really enjoy the song TTWLG, Alison performed it very beautifully. I really haven't ever thought of what you said, Rufus, but I think it would be a fabulous idea. Seirra is a very talented young lady, and her voice blended with Alison's sounds so amazing as well. I'm not really sure if it would happen anytime soon like you said, but there's always a chance sometime in the future!

I think Seierra has a very nice voice, but nowhere near the power of Alisons' at the same age. I saw Seirra twice this summer at bluegrass festivals, and her playing was great, but her voice has to mature a little. It's such fun to follow these talents over the years. Of course no one will ever surpass Alison!!

Oh, I know that. I didn't really mean for what I said to sound that way. I know that Alison's voice is incredible, and although I think Sierra does have a lovely voice, it isn't nearly as matured and amazing as Alison's. (Who's could ever be??) I just heard Alison sing back-ground vocals for Sierra in the Opry show the other night, and they did sound pretty good together. I was just saying that if it was the other way around, then it's another reason why Sierra would be great in the band, she could sing harmonies with Alison and the guys. (But another reason why it did sound so great was because Alison blends so well with other people!)

Alison performed "That's the way love goes" on an old TNN special salute to Hall of Fame members. She also performed "Any Old Time" and Dan sang "I'm on my way back to the old home." She also introduced a segment with Faith Hill and Pam Tillis. The show must have aired sometime in 1996 or 1997. I have it on tape somewhere...

Thanks Doug...I have them downloaded , I hadn't heard her sing TTWLG because I didn't know about her in 96 or 97, but thanks, for the info, Jason...I have said this before, but you know when you read reviews of concerts the way that people write about Alison,, sounds like one of us, major fans, is doing the writing...she is just the most amazing talent, to me....there are some very talented artists out there, but, to date, she's the only one that makes me catch my breath when she sings... God bless her, she is good.....really good....
