The rerun of the Oprah show with AKUS doing backup for Shania Twain and Dolly Parton is currently on television. I know it's short notice, but thought I'd post just in case.

I missed the Oprah show, but caught the "After the Show" on Oxygen..,,, Alison and Dolly did a very cool version of 9 To 5 ...........at the end they .even got Oprah & the others to join in...Alison's talent is so impressive...Dolly is amazing..so I enjoyed watching, it's the first time that I'd seen it...

Ya know what?
I was so totally dissapointed by that Oprah show, although I don't get the Oxygen network, there was almost no mention of these ''Three most talented women'' being backed by a talent that, in my opinion far out rank's all but maybe Dolly (Dolly's been around alot longer then Alison-and has experience in her music that takes time to build up). Oprah didn't even mention Alison on the show and aside from a quick thank-you by Dolly, she went unnoticed by any who weren't looking for her.
Am I just being suckie about this?

Oh,, I understand how you feel...and I agree, but I don't think the show really meant to give that impression....what I think is that maybe Alison didn't want to participate in the way that the other three ladies did....now, that's just how I have it figured...on the "After The Show" on Oxygen, when Alison sang the 9 To 5 with Dolly, she gave an awesome performance and was clearly very comfortable and confident with what she was doing....One thing that I've come to believe about Alison's attitude toward her celebrity is: She clearly could have been a Superstar a long time ago, if she had chosen that....she seems to make her choices based on doing her music the way that she wants to and where she wants to.......Good news for us, the fans....we're just a little ahead of some because we already know she's got the sweetest voice in the world....

I too was a little upset she had no mention, but it didnt really seem to bother Alison. I think she was just happy to be with Dolly. Alison still did a wonderful job. -Chelsea

I'd seen the show before, but I did just happen to turn it on. Afteward I looked in the printed TV listing and no mention of the rerun/rebroadcast, or who was on it. It didn't have the "(N)" symbol so I knew it was not a new program airing, but no mention what was being shown.
Not recalling exactly when the show was originally broadcast, the details I overlooked until I noticed someone who appeared to resemble Ron Block. Look at the next scene of the band, I saw everyone except Alison, and then next time they showed the band they briefly showed Alison.
They could have at least mentioned AKUS was the "house band" or backup band. Maybe that is the way AKUS wanted it. But you couldn't find much better musicians anywhere in Nashville to play on stage in Chicago on Oprah, and at what cost??
