This is just my personal opinion and something I feel passionately about. Feel free to stop reading now. Hopefully you will read this with an open mind. Obviously some will disagree with me, but please do so respectfully. Thanks, Jason America is ready for change, and Hillary Clinton is ready to lead. She's a doer. She's traveled to every corner of the planet, into the most war-torn regions where few other leaders (especially the current President) have gone, and she knows in her bones that the world is crumbling...and so is America. And when all is said and done, this woman leads already. I will vote for Hillary, because she's tough as nails and willing to lead us. I love the fact that I can vote for a woman for president who's ready to walk through the fires of hell for me. I am ready for change I am ready to see the end of this Iraq War I am ready for Universal Healthcare I am ready to improve our schools I am ready for our country to be energy independent I am ready for a strong woman in the White House I am ready for a leader I am ready for Hillary Clinton www.myspace.com/hillaryclinton2008 - Join Hillary's myspace team www.hillaryclinton.com/contribute/VMPT - Contribute to her Campaign

Hi Jason! This is also just a personal opinion AND coming from (were I an American citizen) a most definite Hillary supporter but I really feel this board is not the place for political campaigning! Just saying

Hi Jason! No wonder we haven't seen you for a while, you've been stomping for Hillary. Good for you! p.s. I believe your post was placed appropriately (as it is the "Other Banter" section) and it also gives clear warning for those who aren't interested.

I have to say that I agree with you, foggy. I personally posted a religiously-themed thread in this sub-board, so I feel like we can all (hopefully) be mature enough to not be offended by the views of others (so long as the views are presented in a non-offensive way). If this post bashed another politician, then that would be inappropriate, but it's my opinion that spreading the word about your favorite politician should be encouraged, but with the understanding that it's not about debate, but discussion. If, for example, someone here is staunchly against Hillary, then perhaps the least offensive course of action would be to post a thread that discusses that someone's candidate of choice.

well, that particular discussion Eyesoflove, is what led to my statement! Thought we were supposed to stick to music? I just think much like with religious statements, political ones can make people turn away from this board! People less argumentative than me that is. And much like with religion, in my experience, discussions on politics that stay nice and polite are rare! But hey, since it seems the rules have changed since our religious discussion, I'd like to back up Jason and say that yes..I also think Hillary is the best candidate!

I see where you're coming from, but if I may, I'll tell you the difference that *I* see between this post and the other one (sorry for hijacking your campaign, Jason! lol). All Jason has done in his post is state who he likes and why. He hasn't challenged anyone else's stance or anything like that. Certainly the topic has the potential to get ugly, but that's why I say "hopefully" that won't happen here because, yes, the main focus of this board is to share AKUS news, therefore, a full-blown political mud-slinging debate just doesn't belong here. Maybe it's because I'm a huge supporter of encouraging others to take have a political opinion and vote, but I like to see things like this on the "Other Banter" sub-board. It spreads the word, it lets us show other things we're all interested in, etc. Hopefully, as long as the discussions remain peaceful (and, even better, if a supporter of a different candidate follows in Jason's footsteps and posts something about them), it wouldn't scare anybody away. Anyway, I feel like we've shifted the focus of Jason's post from his campaign to our debate (lol), so I'll just let those be my parting words on the subject . And just a disclaimer, all that is, naturally, only my opinion. I don't profess to be right. Well, no wait...I do profess to be right, otherwise I wouldn't state an opposing opinion lol.

Well, Stacy, You know I totally agree with you but I did see the sense of the reasoning of Foggy in the other thread and decided I agreed with her, hence my original reply here. I do really think if I came here as a new fan for instance and let's say there where in this thread 6 people professing mcCain to be the best candidate, personally I'd start professing my support for Hillary , but I think plenty of people if they are dem's would not feel comfortable. The very reason I started the religious discussion with you (and Turbo on another occasion) is the fact that I felt like that, as far as religion goes, the first time I came to this board. And wanted to show others that, no, in spite of the first impression, one does not have to be a christian to love AKUS or to post on this board! Of course I could do the same here except...I can't think of anything to argue against Jason's statement LOL! Btw, in the meantime so far only Jason and I actually stated our favourite candidate. ;D
