How many of you have met Alison Krauss [or any of the guys in the band]? My roomates and I were fortunate enough to get backstage passes to the Great High Mountain Tour [in Lexington, KY] last Friday. The show was amazing but what was even more incredible was being able to meet and visit with Alison after the show. She was very genuine and very humble, I was amazed at how non-awkward the whole thing was. It was such an honor to spend time with her. We're looking forward to the Huntsville and Atlanta shows, we'll have backstage passes and are hoping to catch up with Alison again and maybe get another photo or two. I'm anxious to hear everyone elses stories.

I met Alison! ^.^ I probably shouldn't have, but because I lingered I got to meet her. I nearly killed myself trying to get to the other side of the arena to meet her, but I made it (alive and in one piece) and met Alison. I didn't get any pictures though. But I got three hugs, and I own Alison germs now!

I'm really glad you were able to meet her after the show. I felt really bad the security were being mean and wouldn't let you come backstage with us. Gah! But that's a true blessing you were able to meet her regardless. YAY, YAY! ;D

I was lucky enough to meet Alison for the first time at the Grand Ole Opry in March ( I think ).. She was soooo sweet and talked to us for a few minutes and posed for pictures. My roomies and I also met her at the Great High Mountain Tour in Lexington.. She was very kind to us and had her usual sense of humor.. Im looking forward to seeing her again!

I met Alison at a show in South Dakota last September. After the show my parents, my brother and I got a chance to talk with her before she left. It was an amazing experience. I didn't take any pictures because I didn't want to seem like a crazed fan. In a way I wish I would have. Oh well!
I really want to go to another one of her shows. Unfortunately she doesn't come around my area too often...ROAD TRIP!

Natalie- I was just wondering how you got backstage passes. Do they have them for all of the concerts?
I met Alison once after her concert in Des Moines, Iowa. She was soooo sweet and down-to-earth. Not like most celebs who run off and try to avoid you at all possible times!

Hi Candice,
My roomates and I were able to get tickets backstage because we're friends with a guy who leases tour busses to singers here in Nashville. Luckily he knows a lot of people, for the GHMT he happens to be driving for Ralph Stanley and since he's with Ralph he is allowed backstage guests.
We're really fortunate and really thankful to be able to go backstage. It's quite an experience.
I don't think they sell backstage passes, there might be radio contests to win some though, just never know.
Welcome to the board!

I have a friend that lives in Nashville and she is a personal friend of Alison. When we went to visit this past April we were lucky enough to get to meet Alison and Ron at our friend's house. We spent about 3 hours shootin' the bull with them. Alison has to be one of the funniest people on earth!!! She is very real and not affected at all by "stardom". She was super friendly and very sweet...she treated us like we were long-time friends. She's the best!! We are going to get to visit with her at the Ft. Worth show on June 14 and we're so looking forward to it. If you ever get a chance to meet her it will be well worth the effort and however long you might have to wait! Once again, we feel very lucky.

I got to shake her hand and get her autograph after the Knoxville show. I did not get past exchanging greetings with her as there were a lot of people vieing for her attention. But it is still a memory I will always enjoy. The only thing I was bummed about is that because I work in a hospital, I did have to eventually wash my hands. LOL I did get to speak with Ron Block for a minute or two. What a sincerely nice person that man was. Thats my experience! Tom

Ron was awesome, we [being my roomates and I] were talking to Alison and Ron walked up [eating a doughnut] and asked if we wanted a group picture. I have no idea why we declined but I think we're going to take him up on it tonight!

The first time I met Alison was in August 2001 after the show Most Wanted Live. My sister and I were in the audience when Alison was interviewed and performed. After the show, Alison gave autographs, and my sister and I got our pictures taken with her. It was so much fun meeting her!
I also met Alison (and Dan, Ron, and Larry) in August last year, after their Branson, MO concert.
My family and I waited outside after the show to meet AKUS. First I got Larry's autograph, then we waited and waited and waited and finally Alison came out, and she signed autographs and so did Dan and Ron. Barry only signed a few, and I don't think that Jerry signed any. I didn't get to meet Barry or Jerry. However, when it was all said and done, I had all of AKUS's autographs! Ron was soooo nice and he took my 8x10 picture on the bus and got Barry and Jerry's autographs for me! How cool is that?
I hope I get to meet her in Branson again on June 10th. That would be so awesome. We'll see!

I met AKUS on Aug. 23 of 03'. My dad and I got to go to see Alison's concerts and we arrived to the venue 3 and a half hours early so we decied to sneak backstage to meet Alison. We got caught and almost got kicked out of the venue. After waitin in the lobby of the concert hall Alison and Ron came walkin through and we got to talk to her. After awhile she asked me if I wanted to go backstage and play her fiddle, since I play one and do contests like her when she was my age. Of course I didn't pass that opportunity up! It was awesome! I got to see her son, he is so cute and kinda looks like Alison. I went back with her and met her band and they about a 20 min. meet and greet for the fans. Then I went back to her dressing room and played her fiddle and got pictures and autographs. The concert was amazing and I wasn't very happy when went back home, but it was an experiment that I will never forget!
