Hi Everyone! Hey Natalie! Again, thank's for this site, it's just great! I'm Marnie and I'm 35yrs old. I live in Calgary, Alberta Canada and I'm a Furneral Director, who day-dreams constantly about being a great bluegrass musician. Alison Krauss and Union Station have been in my cd player since 1991 at least. The Cox Family is another group I can't seem to get enough of. This music makes me feel good and at times really lift's my spirit (in the business of undertaking-believe me sometimes a person really needs a lift). I listen to bluegrass at work and at play, and it's truely a part of my life. Music alway's has been. My Mom and her sisters sang gospel and old-timey music on the radio station when the where kid's, and as they had children they passed their love on. Through my Father, I developed a joy of jazz music also, although it's not as dear to me as bluegrass.
That's about it for me, nothing too exciting. Often my choice of profession send's alot of questions my way, which I don't mind at all. If anyone would like to ask me anything I'm happy to answer as best I can.
Again, I love the Cox Family and would love to know more about them, do they have kid's are they married ect? It's hard to find out any information about some of these artist, like Alison Krauss, I didn't even know she was married much less a mother until very resently. I guess it's because these are humble bunch of artist's and maybe think nobody find's them interesting. Well I do and so do You All out there.
Cheer's for now! Marnie

Marnie,
Welcome to the boards, glad to see ya posting!!
Don't worry, I'm gonna see what I can do about getting some information from The Cox Family. We need to get them a website or fan club or SOMETHING going. There's obviously some interest sparked and it's a true pity that no one can get any information out of anyone or anything.
I'm going to see what I can do, I'll keep you posted!

Hey folks, I just found this site after looking on-line at CMT. Great site Natalie! As my logon name indicates, I am currently in the Navy. Stationed at Kings Bay, GA. This is a submarine base and I have been in the Navy for 18 years. I was originally from St. Charles, MO (just outside St. Louis) but I have lived all over the US. Groton, CT; Bangor, WA; Charleston, SC; Norfolk, Va etc, etc, etc. I love the AKUS sound and, yes, Alision has a voice of an angel. I get every AKUS CD that comes out. I even have the Oh Brother album. The band members are so good at playing the instrument. Dan really has done a great job! Well hope to talk to y'all soon.

Hello all, My name is Jessica, I'm 18 (19 on Aug 7!) and I live in Wyoming. Just when I was about to give up on finding a AKUS message board, I see a link to it on the nickelcreek. info board and am so relieved that I can share the same interest in AKUS music. Other than AKUS music I enjoy Nickel Creek, Bela Fleck, Seven Nations, etc. the list really goes on! I play clarinet, tin whistle, violin, and mandolin (well just started a few months ago!) ;D
I've been to one concert of hers, last year, in Rapid City, SD sept. 5th, it was so awesome.

Hi I'm Keisha, I bet no one could have guessed that. I am a big Alison Krauss fan. I was fortunate enough to meet her here in Columbus this May(the 6th- 12 days after my 16th birthday) at the Great High Mountain concert. She was so incredible I still get excited thinking about it. Alison is definatly the best singer and nicest person ever. Aside from Alison I also listen to Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn. Theres nothing like the classics from all the country music artist to cars, to televison shows- thus explaing my email address. While I definatly appreciate the two classic artist Alison is #1 in my book- shes not old enough to be a classic yet. I mean to not offend any one in that statement.(I really hope I make sense.) Other than my love for the aforementioned persons and things my intrest include Technical Theatre/ entertainment technology and coffee. I agree with the phrase "coffee chocolate and men somethings are better rich". I am very excited to be on this board and to have found other Alison fans. This is great.
